Hi, I'm Deanna Sylvester...
I started my own graphic design business in the early 90's when my daughter was born and I wanted to have a business I could manage from my home. I began by designing and typesetting coupons and advertisements for all kinds of businesses.
When my daughter was old enough, I decided to go back to working outside of my home. I became a licensed massage therapist and educator. While working as a teacher and eventually the campus president, I began writing and editing: learning materials; faculty training materials; educational textbooks; administrative policies and procedures; and marketing content. This introduced me to the world of publishing.
Eventually, I became the Chief Operations Officer for an educational publishing company where I contributed to, edited, and designed textbooks and handbooks for wellness practitioners. I also wrote much of the marketing copy and blog posts.
I have a knack for making things look and sound great. I would love to hear more about your project, so I can help you look and sound great too!
p.s. I published my very own work as a 50th birthday present to myself—a book of poetry. So, I know how personal the writing process can be. I truly believe that what you have to say is important for the world to hear, and I encourage you to get it out there!
